Well, it’s been a while and I have some free time, so I may as well put together a post, I guess.

I have some rather eclectic music tastes – it probably comes from playing in so many different genres. So, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my favorite songs (with great music videos) so that you can broaden your own tastes (or silently shake your head – you know, whatever works for you).

In April of this year, I had a work trip up to Washington state. After it was done, I had a 4-day weekend, so I decided to head over to Tacoma to spend some time with my cousin (many thanks for the hospitality, R&J), then head up to Vancouver. I’m splitting this into two posts – this one is Washington, and the next will be Vancouver.

The Eclipse of the Century – a retrospective

As of the date of posting, (September 25, 2018), the “Great American Eclipse” was 400 days ago on August 21, 2017. Why 400 days instead of a year? Well, 400 is just a much nicer number than 365 (actually, it’s 365 and a quarter days (actually actually, it’s 365.2422 days (actually actually actually… yeah, I just didn’t get this ready in time for the one-year anniversary))).

Georgian food in Portland

My sister spent about a year in the country of Georgia with the Peace Corps. Over Christmas and New Years, myself and my other sister met up with her, and we spent a week in Italy and a week in Georgia. While we were in Georgia, I was exposed to the wonder that was Georgian cuisine: bread, cheese, potatoes, meat (you know, the good stuff). If you’ve never tried khinkali or khachapuri, do so as soon as possible – you won’t be disappointed.
